“Previous updates from Practice Managers have informed me that the FCP Physio sessions have proven to be a beneficial service to our PCN. With easy referrals to the service from clinical and Reception staff, we can accommodate the needs of our patients efficiently. The service has provided the opportunity for GP appointment times to be targeted to other clinical needs of our patients. We recognise that we can improve the referral rate directly from Reception and using the text message service, which we hope to achieve with new triage systems over the coming weeks/months.
From a PCN Management perspective, the Pure physio team are organised and open to discussions regarding service requirements and/or changes. All communications are acted on promptly and we have built a good working relationship with the Pure Physio management team. A professional service has been provided throughout our contract and with appointment availability throughout the week, this has generated positive feedback from our patients.”

We have seen reduced referrals required to community services through his diagnostic reviews and management plans for patients and has been a great benefit to our patients who had previously been waiting in excess of 24 weeks for community physiotherapy. “From the start of the service I would say that we have been extremely impressed with Pure’s ability (across all of the staff) to use initiative and take control of the service where required. Coming from a PCN where we use multiple agencies and directly employ nearly 70 staff this is very much welcomed. Trust me when I say, this is not always the case with all agencies. This has extended across all roles, from Leads working hard to find us staff that would suit our PCN to you being very hands on with new starters and getting them to a point to see patients. Pure has always been quick to respond when we asked for our nearly fully remote team to lean heavier towards a f2f model. We have always been pleased with the quality of the staff assigned to the PCN. On the odd occasion that we have had to raise a concern this has been dealt with in a timely manner and appropriately. Overall we are pleased with our FCP provision and really hope that all of the team enjoy working with us.”

…the Network’s ask from Pure Physiotherapy was specific, we needed mix of both female and male Physiotherapists who recognise the barriers and challenges our patients face and work holistically to address the wider determinants of their health, as well as being experienced and knowledgeable in their Physio role. “Thank you so much for your help with the programme. You showed me to pace my activity to cope with pain level… it worked I am more active now, more confident. I am getting involved with more hobbies and am more social. My mood is much better, and I have discontinued with sertraline. I do not take analgesics regularly anymore. I am kind to myself. I know days may be rough pain-wise sometimes, but I feel I can cope. I am thinking of learning to swim and play the piano soon. I worked to push myself because you were encouraging me and not judging me. Every week you encouraged me.”

“After two years from 2011 of doctors and pain specialists not listening to me or ordering a scan, I eventually had to undergo surgery to remove a C5 disc from my neck. Naturally, I was apprehensive before my appointment today. However, I can honestly say that the examination of my neck, along with the reflex testing, explanation, and advice, was outstanding. I was also impressed by how quickly my appointment was scheduled through my doctor.”

I have been signposted in different ways around walking, football etc. Without that, life would have been different. I feel more confident, and my mindset has changed – because now I know it’s not just my hip, but the pain is due to muscle and other factors – I’m trying to change my mindset and trying to keep going forward. I have stopped taking caffeine after mid-day, switched to de-caff coffee and de-caff tea and now I’m moving over to herbal tea with honey and switching to healthy options. I am sleeping better as well. I used to use walker with brakes, now I can walk just by using one walking stick. It has been positive. I want to refer to the programme once it ends.”

“Because of the guidance and coaching from the pain management service, I’m coping with my pain in a much better way, seeing positive changes both physically and mentally, and adopted a new positive mindset. At the start of the programme, I was struggling to see how my pain would get better after having it for so long, but having open conversation and exploring realistic possibilities has allowed me to make changes for the better. My aim at the start of the programme was to be able to get back doing the things I enjoyed before this pain became an issue. I’m now more active, walking more freely, in less pain, and trying more things to make positive changes.”
